About Bitcoin SV

Bitcoin SV (BSV) was created in 2018 as a result of a hard fork from the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain, which itself had split from the original Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain. The primary objective of BSV is to adhere closely to the foundational principles outlined in Satoshi Nakamoto's original white paper and early Bitcoin software. By focusing on scalability and stability, BSV aims to function as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system while also providing a robust distributed data network capable of supporting advanced blockchain applications for enterprises. To achieve these goals, BSV has eliminated artificial block size limits and restored previously disabled Script commands, enhancing its technical capabilities. This design allows the BSV network to handle a significantly higher volume of transactions—potentially tens of thousands per second—while maintaining low fees, making it suitable for micropayments. Additionally, BSV supports advanced functionalities such as tokens, smart contracts, and various data applications, positioning itself as a blockchain that aligns more closely with the original vision of Bitcoin than its contemporaries.
