About Cartesi

Cartesi (CTSI) is a blockchain project designed to empower developers by enabling the creation of appchain rollups that leverage the security of the Ethereum network. By integrating traditional software development tools and methodologies with blockchain technology, Cartesi aims to bridge the gap between conventional programming and decentralized applications. This approach allows developers to utilize familiar programming languages, libraries, and operating systems, thereby facilitating the development of complex decentralized applications (dApps) that can address real-world use cases. The Cartesi technology suite includes several key components, such as Cartesi Rollups, which provide a customizable execution environment for deploying app-specific rollups. This system utilizes an Optimistic Rollups framework alongside the Cartesi Machine Emulator, allowing for the development of smart contracts and dApps without the constraints of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Additionally, the Cartesi Machine, a RISC-V-based virtual machine running Linux, enhances computational capabilities, while tools like CartesiScan and the Cartesi Explorer support transaction monitoring and governance participation. The project also features a robust fraud-proof system known as DAVE, which optimizes security and decentralization for its users.
