About Theta Network

Theta Network operates as a decentralized cloud infrastructure specifically designed for AI, media, and entertainment applications. It is structured as a "dual network," comprising the Theta Edge Network and the Theta Blockchain. The Edge Network harnesses the computational power of over 10,000 global nodes, delivering approximately 80 PetaFLOPS of distributed GPU resources. This substantial capacity supports a variety of tasks, including AI processing, video streaming, and 3D rendering. The Theta EdgeCloud, launched in May 2024, represents a significant advancement in hybrid cloud-edge AI computing, enabling community members to engage in and benefit from various compute jobs, particularly as the demand for generative AI increases. Complementing the Edge Network, the Theta Blockchain is an EVM-compatible multi-blockchain framework that facilitates Turing-complete smart contracts.
