MACD (Moving Ortalama Convergence Divergence) is built from the difference between a fast and a slow EMA (commonly 12 and 26). A signal line (commonly the 9 EMA of MACD) is used to identify crossovers. The histogram visualizes the distance between MACD and signal line, which helps traders see acceleration or deceleration in momentum.
