About Kaspa

Kaspa is a cryptocurrency project that was launched in November 2021 without any pre-mining, pre-sale, or coin allocations, ensuring a completely community-driven initiative. It aspires to serve as a global sequencer for both traditional finance and decentralized cryptocurrency markets by leveraging a proof-of-work mechanism and its unique BlockDAG consensus protocol known as GHOSTDAG. This innovative approach positions Kaspa as the fastest proof-of-work network, integrating essential attributes such as hard money principles, a strong focus on security, rapid decentralization through high block generation rates, and swift transaction speeds that surpass both proof-of-work and proof-of-stake networks. In addition to its foundational capabilities, Kaspa supports smart contract development through based-rollups, which aim to maintain liquidity without fragmentation. The project is designed to align with the original vision of a digital medium of exchange articulated by Satoshi Nakamoto, while also enhancing global layer-one sequencing and minimizing confirmation times affected by internet latency.
