The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) measures how far price deviates from its statistical mean. Traders use it to spot strong positive or negative deviations, momentum expansion, and potential extreme conditions — especially when readings stretch toward the +100 and −100 thresholds.
CCI readings above +100 indicate unusually strong positive deviation from the mean; readings below −100 indicate unusually strong negative deviation. These levels are not automatic reversal signals in every strategy — interpretation depends on trend context. On TradeAnalyzer.Pro, they serve as exhaustion thresholds for screener classification.
TradeAnalyzer.Pro treats strong positive and negative CCI deviations as potential exhaustion conditions. When CCI reads above +100, markets may be classified as SHORT; when CCI reads below −100, markets may be classified as LONG — reflecting a mean-reversion approach to extreme deviations, not automatic trend continuation.
The table shows the current CCI reading alongside the active LONG or SHORT classification. A market can remain classified as SHORT after CCI crossed above +100 even if the live reading has mean-reverted toward zero (e.g. CCI 82 while still SHORT). The signal-detected column marks when the threshold classification last changed — not when the page was loaded.
Lower timeframes help identify early extreme readings; higher timeframes provide regime context. A robust CCI workflow often compares at least two timeframes before acting on a signal.
Combine CCI with the indicator filter and the crypto screener for multi-indicator confirmation. Validate macro context using market status, compare candidates using Compare, and cross-check RSI, Stochastic, and VWAP Screener.
These indicator boards are research tools. Readings describe conditions on a scheduled snapshot—they are not trade signals, predictions, or personalized advice.
Tool note: CCI extremes flag unusual deviation from a moving average of typical price—not automatic turns.
