How the VWAP Indicator Works

Volume-Weighted Price Benchmark

In Forex trading, VWAP is a volume-weighted price benchmark widely referenced by institutional participants. It helps evaluate whether price trades above or below the volume-weighted average on EURUSD, GBPUSD and major pairs — and spot mean reversion opportunities.

VWAP Distance %

VWAP Distance shows relative distance from VWAP on FX charts. Positive values = price above VWAP; negative = below — explaining LONG/SHORT classification in the screener.

Signal Logic: Reclaim vs Rejection

Long setups often appear when price reclaims VWAP with improving volume. Short setups when price breaks below VWAP and fails to reclaim — especially relevant in range-bound FX sessions.

Multi-Timeframe Confirmation (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d)

Aligning 15m, 1h, 4h and 1d often produces clearer signals on EURUSD, GBPUSD and major pairs before scaling risk.

Research Workflow: Filter → Screen → Validate

Combine VWAP with the indicator filter and the Forex screener for multi-indicator confirmation. Validate macro context using market status, compare candidates using Compare, and cross-check Supertrend, MACD, and RSI.

Key features:
  • Price, VWAP & distance % columns
  • Multi-timeframe screening (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d)
  • Fast symbol search
  • Live VWAP screening for Forex

VWAP FAQ

VWAP is a volume-weighted price benchmark. FX traders use it to evaluate price extension relative to the institutional volume-weighted average and find mean-reversion setups.

Bullish when price reclaims VWAP with volume; bearish when price rejects VWAP and stays below. Confirm across timeframes on EURUSD and EURUSD.

Shows how far price trades above or below VWAP. Positive = above; negative = below.

Relative strength on the FX or gold timeframe — price above its volume-weighted average.

Relative weakness until VWAP is reclaimed; failed reclaims can reinforce bearish bias.

15m for intraday scanning, 1h/4h for swing context, daily VWAP for higher-timeframe bias on FX.

VWAP values refresh with live data. Signal detected shows when the price-VWAP relationship last changed.

Yes — use with Forex screener, indicator filter and market status.

Research Limitations & FAQ

These indicator boards are research tools. Readings describe conditions on a scheduled snapshot—they are not trade signals, predictions, or personalized advice.

Tool note: VWAP is session/context anchored—respect the session definition; it is not an oracle price target.

  • Research, not signals: Table readings are informational context for screening—not buy/sell instructions.
  • Lagging & descriptive: Most indicators describe recent price/volume history. They do not guarantee future direction.
  • Confirm on Chart: Cross-check multi-timeframe (15m / 1h / 4h / 1d) on the live Chart before acting on any idea.
  • Snapshot cadence: Crypto indicator tools refresh on the research pipeline (~5 minutes); Markets/FX ~15 minutes—not a tick stream.
  • Data limits: Feeds can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Treat derived fields as best-effort research inputs.
  • No advice / no internals: Not investment advice. We do not publish proprietary formula internals or win-rate promises.
