How the Ichimoku Cloud Works

Kumo Trend Structure & Dynamic Support/Resistance

In Forex trading, Ichimoku maps trend structure through the Kumo cloud, Tenkan-sen and Kijun-sen. Price above the cloud on EURUSD, GBPUSD and major pairs often reflects bullish structure; below the cloud reflects bearish pressure; inside the cloud can indicate weaker directional conviction.

What is the Kumo Cloud?

On FX charts, the Kumo is formed by Senkou Span A and Senkou Span B. Price above the Kumo can indicate bullish trend structure, price below the Kumo can indicate bearish structure, while price inside the Kumo often reflects weaker directional conviction.

Tenkan-sen, Kijun-sen & Senkou Spans

Tenkan-sen is the shorter-term reference line; Kijun-sen is the medium-term baseline on Forex and gold charts. Senkou Span A & B form the Kumo boundaries — this screener focuses on Kumo structure and Tenkan/Kijun alignment, not Chikou Span.

Signal Logic: Kumo Breakouts & Tenkan/Kijun Crosses

Bullish conditions can develop when price moves above the Kumo with supportive Tenkan/Kijun alignment. Bearish conditions can develop when price moves below the Kumo. Neutral readings often reflect price inside the cloud on EURUSD, GBPUSD and major pairs.

Multi-Timeframe Confirmation (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d)

Lower timeframes help with entry timing on FX; higher timeframes provide regime context. Confirming across at least two timeframes often reduces false signals on major pairs.

Research Workflow: Filter → Screen → Validate

Combine Ichimoku with the indicator filter and the Forex screener for multi-indicator confirmation. Validate macro context using market status, compare candidates using Compare, and cross-check MACD, RSI, Supertrend, and Momentum.

Key features:
  • Kumo analysis on EURUSD, GBPUSD & major pairs
  • Multi-timeframe screening (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d)
  • Fast symbol search
  • Ichimoku screening for Forex

Ichimoku FAQ

Ichimoku evaluates Kumo structure, Tenkan/Kijun interaction and Senkou spans on major FX pairs and to assess direction, momentum and dynamic support/resistance.

The Kumo is formed by Senkou Span A and B. Price above the cloud on FX pairs or gold often reflects bullish structure; below reflects bearish structure; inside reflects weaker conviction.

Tenkan-sen is the shorter-term reference line; Kijun-sen is the medium-term baseline. Their cross and alignment relative to the Kumo help classify LONG, SHORT or NEUTRAL conditions.

The two projected Kumo boundaries — defining where price is inside, above or below Ichimoku trend structure on FX charts.

Long setups align with upside Kumo breakouts and supportive Tenkan/Kijun structure. Short setups align with downside breaks and weaker alignment. Confirm across 15m, 1h, 4h and 1d.

Above the Kumo often suggests bullish structure on the pair or GBPUSD; below suggests bearish structure; inside the cloud is often classified as NEUTRAL in the screener.

Use 15m for scanning, 1h and 4h for intraday context, and daily Ichimoku for higher-timeframe bias on EURUSD, GBPUSD and major pairs.

Ichimoku values refresh with live FX data. The signal-detected column shows when the price-Kumo relationship last changed.

Research Limitations & FAQ

These indicator boards are research tools. Readings describe conditions on a scheduled snapshot—they are not trade signals, predictions, or personalized advice.

Tool note: Ichimoku stacks many lines—cloud color alone is not a complete trade plan.

  • Research, not signals: Table readings are informational context for screening—not buy/sell instructions.
  • Lagging & descriptive: Most indicators describe recent price/volume history. They do not guarantee future direction.
  • Confirm on Chart: Cross-check multi-timeframe (15m / 1h / 4h / 1d) on the live Chart before acting on any idea.
  • Snapshot cadence: Crypto indicator tools refresh on the research pipeline (~5 minutes); Markets/FX ~15 minutes—not a tick stream.
  • Data limits: Feeds can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Treat derived fields as best-effort research inputs.
  • No advice / no internals: Not investment advice. We do not publish proprietary formula internals or win-rate promises.
